Thursday May 3rd

Today we had two special guests visit our classroom to share their “Genius” and passions.  We learned about the importance of empathy and honesty and ‘never losing your cool’ throughout one’s career.  Mr. Dobbie shared how his passion for theatre combined with his willingness to take calculated risks guided him in his career.  We met Coal, the most adorable black lab puppy and Dr. Barry talked to us about her job and how to handle/train puppies.

Students created their own probability games using a variety of supplies.  We reviewed for our science test tomorrow and practiced our reading strategies ( decide what’s important, use what you know, summarize ) as a whole group through a passage called Rivers as Roads.  At the end of the day, we worked on our ‘found poetry’.

Reminders:

  1. science test tomorrow
  2. bring back signed math test
  3. planet protectors signature due next Tuesday for our last mission.
